Florida’s Miami Gardens.The Miami Dolphins defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 14-6 on Saturday night after Tua Tagovailoa tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass and was sacked twice in his lone preseason game.
For Miami (2-0-1), Mike Boone ran for a 7-yard touchdown, while Cam Little of Jacksonville made field goals of 59 and 43 yards.

In the preseason finale for both teams, numerous Dolphins regulars played into the second quarter while the Jaguars (0-2-1) rested their starters.
Early in the second quarter, Tagovailoa connected with Malik Washington to put Miami ahead 7-0, then played the first three drives then sat. Washington moved to the outside, switched inside, and ran to the end zone after catching Tagovailoa’s throw inside the 20-yard line.
For 49 yards, Tagovailoa completed 4 of 8 throws. He made a 2-point conversion after the touchdown by connecting with reserve tight end Pharaoh Brown.
With 8:29 left in the third quarter, Zach Wilson took Tagovailoa’s place and led Miami to their second touchdown drive, which was completed by Boone’s run.
In the fourth quarter, Wilson was replaced by rookie Quinn Ewers, who completed 7 of 8 passes for 66 yards.
The Jaguars had six sacks at the end.
With 2:06 left, Jacksonville drove to the Miami 30, but Seth Henigan’s pass was intercepted by John Saunders Jr. and returned 52 yards.
Jason Sanders, a kicker with the Dolphins, did not appear on the field despite dressing. After each of its touchdowns, Miami went for two, and kickoffs were handled by punter Jake Bailey.
In the second quarter, Bailey again missed a 51-yard field goal attempt.
In the second quarter, Little made both field goals. As time ran out, he hit a 59-yarder.
The Jaguars had trouble moving the ball all night, with Henigan finishing 15 of 21 for 77 yards and John Wolford going 3 of 5 for 25 yards.
Injuries
Halfway through the fourth quarter, Dolphins linebacker Eugene Asante hobbled off the field after receiving medical attention from trainers.
