The Democratic primary turnout for District 15 was little over 10%, which makes me angry about my party. What’s the matter with you all? When you can’t even bring yourself to cast a ballot in a special election, you can’t hold the Democratic Party of Florida responsible. For Pete’s sake (and democracy’s sake), join the cause and cast your ballot.
If the Dolphins were good, the ongoing daily coverage would not be so horrible. We don’t see the Bucs in the paper every day, despite the fact that they are a far superior team to the Dolphins. Why is that? The Dolphins haven’t earned their place in the paper, so perhaps they pay to be there. Go, Bucs!
To the ticked-off ribs expert who said that BBQ ribs are barbecued over hardwood coals and that smoked ribs are not BBQ: No, that is by definition grilled. Any pitmaster will tell you that authentic barbecue, or BBQ, involves using hardwood as fuel and slow cooking over low, indirect fire for hours. With—wait for it—a smoker, you can accomplish this at home. I tried parboiling once and didn’t enjoy it. As an alternative, I frequently cover the seasoned meat in foil and bake it at 220 degrees for almost two hours before finishing it on a hot grill for thick slabs of ribs. Drippings in the foil provide a great sauce foundation, and it’s more tender than grilling alone.
I recently signed up for the Snapshot program offered by Progressive Insurance. Theoretically, it keeps track of your driving patterns and adjusts your next insurance rate accordingly. I currently have a strong brake and quick acceleration. So, I’ll get dinged if I brake hard to avoid colliding with a jerk who just cut me off? Would Progressive rather that I strike them? Furthermore, will I also be fined if I speed up to catch up on I-4 quickly? Would Progressive rather I slowly catch up and get hit by someone speeding at ninety? Progressive seems to want me to get into collisions.
