WashingtonAttorney General Pam Bondi announced on social media Thursday that a man who was charged with a felony for throwing a sandwich at a federal law enforcement agent in the nation’s capital has been sacked from his position at the Justice Department.
Late on Sunday, a video showing Sean Charles Dunn scolding a group of federal officials went popular on the internet. According to a court complaint, Dunn tossed a “sub-style” sandwich at a Customs and Border Protection official, leading to his detention on an assault allegation.

According to a department official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a personnel matter, Dunn, 37, of Washington, was an international relations expert in the criminal division of the Justice Department.
“This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ,” Bondi stated. You will not continue to disrespect our government and law enforcement while working in this administration.
Following the White House’s announcement of increased efforts to curb crime, a multiagency influx of federal law enforcement agents in uniform dispersed around the city over the weekend. That was before to President Donald Trump’s declaration on Monday that he would assume command of the Washington Police Department and activate 800 National Guard personnel.
A former FBI agent who was accused of participating in a mob attack on the U.S. Capitol and encouraging rioters during the siege on January 6, 2021, by saying, “Kill em!” as they attacked police, is still employed by the Justice Department. The Justice Department pardon lawyer Ed Martin Jr., a key player in Trump’s effort to rig the 2020 election, is being counseled by retired FBI supervisory agent Jared Lane Wise.
According to a police affidavit, Dunn confronted a group of CBP officials at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, shouted at one of them, poked a finger in his face, and called him a fascist. According to the allegation, Dunn was seen tossing a sandwich at the agent’s chest on camera.

A request for comment on Dunn’s charge was not immediately answered by one of his lawyers.
Trump’s efforts to flood the city with federal officers and National Guard troops coincided with the tragedy. City officials point to data that shows violent crime is at a 30-year low, despite Trump’s claims that crime in the city has reached emergency levels.
