ORLANDO, FL.When Mart n Ojeda assisted on Ramiro Enrique’s game-winning goal in the second half, Orlando City defeated Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Saturday night, making it 12 straight games in which he contributed a goal.
Enrique’s seventh goal gave Orlando City (13-6-8) a 2-1 lead in the 76th minute, and Ojeda got his 14th assist of the season. Ojeda’s 12-match streak with Toronto FC in 2018 tied Sebastian Giovinco’s record for the second-longest in league history. When Josef Martnez played for Atlanta United in 2019, he set the record with a 15-match streak.

After the start was postponed for three hours and thirteen minutes due to bad weather, it took just two minutes for rookie Tyrese Spicer to score and put Orlando City ahead. After scoring twice in seven starts and 21 appearances for Toronto FC this season, Spicer scored his first goal in his first start and second appearance with the team.
In the 25th minute, Dejan Joveljic pulled Sporting KC (6-14-6) level with his first career assist from Mason Toye. In his first season with the team, it was Joveljic’s 14th goal, one more than his career-high of 14 goals set for the reigning champion Los Angeles Galaxy the previous season. In 123 league games, Toye, who is also in his debut season with the team, had not contributed an assist since 2018.
After replacing Luis Muriel in the 71st minute, Enrique scored for Orlando City in the 76th minute with help from Ojeda and Ivn Angulo. Angulo, who replaced Marco Pa Ali in the 71st, recorded his seventh assist.
After taking Spicer’s place in the 77th minute, rookie Nicol’s Rodriguez gave Orlando City a two-goal lead in the 83rd minute with his first goal in his eighth game.
Pedro Gallese denied Orlando City three shots.
Sporting KC’s John Pulskamp recorded four saves.
Oscar Pareja, the coach of Orlando City, won his 100th game.
On Saturday, Orlando City will travel to play Nashville, South Carolina. On Sunday, Sporting KC will travel to play the Seattle Sounders.
