After earning a verbal commitment from 3-star defensive end Jayden Curtison on Thursday, UCF began the holiday weekend with some positive news.
Curtis, who stands six feet three and weighs 260 pounds, is starting his senior year at Ocean Springs, Mississippi’s St. Martin High School. In 19 games with the Yellow Jackets, he recorded 87 tackles, 12 of which were for loss, and 4 sacks. He concluded the previous season with 52 tackles, including 4 sacks and 11 tackles for loss.
He received offers from eighteen universities, including Tulane, Ole Miss, and Memphis.
Curtis joins Wekiva’s Isaiah McNish as the second defensive lineman and the fifteenth athlete to commit to the recruiting class. According to the most recent 247Sports composite rankings, he is the 42nd-ranked recruit in the state and the 134th-ranked defensive lineman in the class.
Although verbal agreements are not legally binding, they may be formalized during the December early signing period.
According to 247Sports, UCF’s recruiting class is ranked No. 69.
