K1 Speed Orlando supplies adrenaline indoors with 45-mph kart racing

Published On:

Thanks to the indoor attraction’s electric go-karts that can exceed 45 mph, Orlando residents and visitors who seek speed may travel to K1 Speed this summer to satisfy their cravings.

The 60,000-square-foot facility, located just north of Universal Epic Universe and a block from International Drive, is centered around racing. In addition, the attraction has a restaurant with a new cuisine, 50 arcade games, air hockey, pool tables, private event spaces, and a complete liquor bar.

K1 is an aggressive brand. As a side attraction, we have arcade games and pool tables. “With our new menu, our food is better,” K1 Speed spokesperson Tom Abbott remarked. Racing will always be the main focus.

It can hold up to 12 drivers at once and has enormous windows in every part of the room that overlook the racetrack. The junior races, which are held separately, use karts that peak out at 20 mph for drivers who are at least 48 tall, while the adult karts, which are made for teen/adult racers who are at least 58 tall, can reach 45 mph.

According to Abbott, one of the company’s objectives is to assist guests who attend corporate gatherings or birthday parties in competing at higher levels of racing.

According to him, we’re quite accustomed to a casual racer, but our primary goal is to instill a more competitive mindset in them. Our primary objective is to lower the cost of racing. The cost of racing is really high.

Packages containing one, two, or three races are available for purchase at K1 Speed’s Orlando headquarters. A head sock is given to new visitors, and all racers are provided with helmets and other safety gear after being briefed on the track’s regulations.

Instead of competing for position, drivers complete 12 laps around the track. After the race, an email with a breakdown of each lap time and ranking is issued. For an extra fee, a first-person-view video package is offered as an extra.

After 5 p.m. on Fridays, drivers can choose to participate in a unique Glo Karting experience at the Orlando facility. The track is lined with vibrant LED lights, and the main white lights are switched off.

Following the race, guests can eat sliders and wings, play arcade games, or sip drinks while seeing other racers as they speed around the track.

Since its founding in the San Diego area in 2003, K1 Speed has grown to 67 open locations around the United States, with six more planned and two professional outdoor circuits operating in California and Indiana. With offices in Canada, China, England, France, Italy, Mexico, Scotland, and South Korea, the business is growing its global presence.

There are seven Florida attractions, including the Orlando one that opened in 2015.
