After being selected first overall out of Kentucky in the 2010 NBA Draft, Wall, 34, spent the most of his playing career with the Washington Wizards. With averages of 18.7 points and 8.9 assists per game, the five-time All-Star point guard wraps out his NBA career.

“I’m leaving the court today, but I’m not leaving the game,” Wall stated in a social media post on Tuesday. My life will always revolve around basketball, and new possibilities will come up. I believe that this is the right moment for me to enter my next chapter with assurance.

In addition to playing for the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers, Wall spent the most of his career with the Washington Wizards. He was selected to the All-NBA third team in 2016–17, his greatest season, when he averaged 23.1 points and 10.7 assists for the Wizards.

In his prime, Wall was one of the most athletic and quick point guards; he won the 2014 Slam Dunk. He was a standout defender who was selected to the 2015 All-Defensive second team.

The latter part of his career was marred by injuries. He didn’t play in the last two years and never participated in more than half of the games in any of the previous six seasons.
