The National Weather Service has forecast another day with a high chance of rain, so Central Florida’s Fourth of July is likely to be a soggy one.
Regretfully, NWS Melbourne forecasts warned that preparations for outdoor activities today would once more be met by a growing amount of rain and storms by the afternoon and evening. The general trend hasn’t changed much in the past few days.
Precipitation is 80% likely to fall in the area, with a peak time of 3–7 p.m.
According to the NWS, embedded thunder and lingering rain regions will continue until nightfall, though their intensity should decrease.
On Thursday, the region experienced similar conditions, with up to 4 inches of rain falling in some locations.
Forecasters stated that this is a plausible worst-case scenario that also applies to today’s storms. The fiercest storms are unlikely to be accompanied with a few wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph.
In the late afternoon and early evening, the I-4 corridor may once more be at the highest risk of rain.
Although humidity will cause the heat indices to reach the mid- to upper-90s, highs will still be in the upper 80s due to the cloud cover.
