SAN FRANCISCOJung Hoo Lee, a center fielder for the San Francisco Giants, might have made the year’s best catch.
As San Francisco defeated the Rays 7-1 on Sunday, Lee made a play that generated a lot of discussion on social media after Yandy D. Az of Tampa Bay drove a pitch to deep right-center, also known as Triples Alley at Oracle Park.

The baseball bounced out of Lee’s hand as he slid on his left leg while running to his left. Before it sprang up, he pinned it between his knees and caught it with his glove after it had moved to his left thigh and then rolled down to his left leg.
After agreeing to a sixth-year contract worth $113 million prior to the 2024 season, the 26-year-old South Korean speedster has gained popularity among San Francisco fans.
He’s going to become even more well-known.
Following an injury that limited his first season to 26 games, Lee has been arguably the finest player on the mediocre Giants this season. After undergoing season-ending surgery to repair his dislocated left shoulder following an injury sustained in a collision with an outfield wall, he has recovered.
