GARDENS IN MIAMI Before playing the Jacksonville Jaguars in a combined practice on Thursday and Saturday in the preseason finale, the Miami Dolphins had their last intrasquad session of training camp on Wednesday.
Matthew Judon, who was originally listed as No. 91 on the online roster Wednesday morning, was spotted wearing his No. 8 jersey during his practice debut with the Dolphins.
Judon’s first day was remarkable. He beat a tackle for a practice sack on consecutive plays. One would have chosen a strip-sack. In team drills, he also shown great pass coverage skills and was observed successfully establishing the advantage against the run.
Chop Robinson, another OLB, also had a rough day. He had consecutive plays involving a sack and a tipped ball on an outside throw.
TE Prior to Wednesday’s drills, Darren Waller, who had recently come out of retirement and been removed from the physically-unable-to-perform list, had his first practice with his new squad. However, Waller did not take part in team exercises.
C Aaron Brewer was the player wearing the orange jersey at Wednesday’s practice.
QB Tua Tagovailoa underthrew a deep out to wide receiver Jaylen Waddle on the opening play of the 11-on-11 game. Waddle broke it up from behind, but CB Jack Jones almost intercepted it.
Quinn Ewers, the quarterback, beat S. John Saunders Jr. on the play and made the throw of the day to wide receiver AJ Henning on a deep corner.
