ANACONDA, Mont. (AP) As authorities began a manhunt for the culprit, they reported that four people had been killed in a shooting at a pub in Montana on Friday.
The Montana Division of Criminal probe, which is in charge of the probe, said the incident occurred at The Owl Bar in Anaconda on Friday at roughly 10:30 a.m. Four persons were declared dead at the site, according to the agency.
The suspect resided next door to the bar and was later identified as Michael Paul Brown, 45. According to authorities, a SWAT squad cleared his house, and he was last spotted in the Stump Town neighborhood, which is located just west of Anaconda.
The area was crowded with around a dozen state and local police officers who seemed to be looking for the culprit in the woods.
According to a statement from the Montana Highway Patrol, Brown was thought to be armed.

Situated in a valley surrounded by mountains on both the north and south sides, Anaconda is roughly 75 miles southeast of Missoula. Founded in the late 1800s by copper barons who made money from neighboring mines, the town has 9,000 residents. The village is looming above a massive, now-defunct smelter.
After learning of the shooting from a friend, the owner of the Firefly Caf in Anaconda claimed she closed up her establishment at around 11 a.m. on Friday. She was still awaiting an all-clear to reopen two hours later.
Guns are nothing new to us since we’re Montana. “Everyone is pretty rattled that our town is locked down,” said Barbie Nelson, the proprietor of the cafe.
