Renown Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Caroline Ackerman reported that multiple individuals with gunshot wounds were admitted to the hospital’s emergency room.

According to Johnson, the shooting was reported outside the valet area on Monday at roughly 7:30 a.m. According to a representative of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting involved an officer.

Two guys were accused more than a year ago of shooting and killing another man who was visiting the resort in January 2024.

On Monday, Reno police issued a warning to locals to avoid the area. Outside the casino, a number of emergency vehicles, including numerous ambulances, arrived.

Situated a short distance from Reno-Tahoe International Airport, the Grand Sierra boasts the largest casino floor in northern Nevada. With almost 2,000 hotel rooms, it’s also one of the city’s highest structures.

The resort’s largest ballroom served as the venue for a campaign rally by President Donald Trump last November.

For the victims, their families, and our community as a whole, my heart bleeds. In a social media post, city council member Devon Reese stated, “Reno is resilient, but we are not exempt from the nationwide gun violence epidemic.”
