YORKB NEWThe Philadelphia Phillies defeated the fading Yankees 9–4 on Saturday, avoiding a serious injury worry with skipper Aaron Judge thanks to home runs from Ryan Harper deep into the right-field bleachers and a two-run double from Kyle Schwarber following New York’s tenth mistake in five games.

The Phillies took a 9-1 lead thanks to two RBI from Trea Turner and a home run from Edmundo Sosa. The NL East-leading New York Mets led Philadelphia by a half-game at the beginning of the day.

Ranger Su rez (8-4) threw a season-high 108 pitches in 5 2/3 innings, giving up one run and seven hits while striking out eight and walking one.

For the second time this season, Judge was left out of the Yankees’ starting lineup. According to manager Aaron Boone, the two-time AL MVP underwent an MRI that showed a flexor strain but no damage to the ulnar collateral ligament because his elbow has been hurting him since a throw on Tuesday against Toronto. According to Boone, Judge will be placed on the injured list and start as the designated hitter upon his return.

In 3 2/3 innings, Marcus Stroman (2-2) gave up four runs, five hits, and four walks.

Giancarlo Stanton drove home two runs against Daniel Robert in the bottom half, and Sosa hit a two-run homer off Allan Winans in the seventh.
