The cause and restoration time of Lake County’s 911 call system outage, which occurred Tuesday afternoon, are yet unknown.
According to county spokesperson Jeff Foley, the outage started at 2:10 p.m. and the system was still unavailable as of 4:00 p.m. He stated that it is currently unknown what caused the stoppage and when it would be active again.
Foley stated that text-to-911 is an option and that the county is actively attempting to restore the system as soon as feasible.
