ORLANDO, FL.By officially announcing Tyus Jones’ signing on Sunday, the Orlando Magic brought the seasoned guard to the City Beautiful.
Jones is anticipated to receive $7 million from the rumored one-year contract.

The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Jones in the 2015 NBA Draft. He previously played for the Phoenix Suns, where he averaged over 10 points and five assists per game in 81 games last season. He has also played for Minnesota, Memphis, Washington, and most recently, the Phoenix Suns. In addition, he made over 90% of his free-throw tries and 41% of his three-point attempts.
In a press statement, Magic President of Operations Jeff Weltman expressed his excitement about Tyus (Jones) joining the Orlando Magic family. He is the ideal pro and will contribute a combination of shooting, playmaking, and intelligence to our squad. Tyus, who is well-known for his leadership and moral character, will be an excellent mentor to our young core.
The Magic’s active free agency time is extended by the signing. In a deal with Memphis last month, the team acquired Desmond Bane.
According to the Associated Press, they also agreed to a one-year, $5 million contract with forward Moritz Wagner. Wagner hopes to be ready for the upcoming season despite tearing his ACL in December.
