On Wednesday, an Orlando lady reported to authorities that a guy had broken into her room while she was asleep, sexually attacked her, and covered her face with a pillow.
According to the Orlando Police Department, Wesley Hernandez Rios, 26, was later taken into custody on several offenses, including attempted murder, sexual battery with a deadly weapon or physical force, and false imprisonment with a weapon. According to documents, he is presently being held at the Orange County Jail.
After receiving a report of a residential burglary, police officers arrived at the victim’s residence on Amberly Court in east Orlando at around 6:30 a.m. According to OPD, the victim told officers what had transpired and that the suspect—later identified as Hernandez Rios—had tried to flee after hearing the arrival of law enforcement.
Hernandez Rios led police on a short foot pursuit before being apprehended after disobeying multiple orders to stop.
According to court documents, he was also taken into custody on suspicion of resisting an officer without using violence and burglary of a residence with assault or battery with a firearm.
